U.K. education exhibition

CHENNAI, FEB. 24. Hundreds of students flocked to the Education U.K. Exhibition, which opened today, to learn more about the opportunities to study in Britain.

Organised by the British Council, the two-day exhibition at Taj Coramandel brings students face to face with representatives from 56 universities.

"The number of Indian students choosing the U.K. for higher studies is on the rise," according to Jacqui Allan, Education Promotion Manager in India for the British Council. As many as 15,000 students were issued visas to study in the U.K. for 2004-2005, 13,700 the previous year and 11,200 in 2002-2003.
