Committed to regime change in State: TNCC

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI, FEB. 24. The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) today resolved to remove the "anti-people" All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Government in the State and combat communal forces.

At a meeting of the office-bearers, chaired by its president, G.K. Vasan, it was decided to face the challenges that came in the way of restoring Kamaraj rule in the State.

In a resolution, the TNCC accused the State Government of placing hurdles in the implementation of Central Government schemes.

The AIADMK Government must properly implement the Central scheme, named after Rajiv Gandhi, for rehabilitation of tsunami victims.

The State Government, the TNCC said, had so far not set aside any allocation for rehabilitation of tsunami victims.

The Government only adopted a confrontationist attitude towards the Centre through letters.

The Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, did not attune herself to the ground realities, the resolution said.

Just as the secular forces came together in the last Lok Sabha election, they would teach the AIADMKa lesson in the next Assembly election too.

The TNCC called for the resolution of river water disputes with the neighbouring States.
