COIMBATORE, FEB. 24. The Hindu Opportunities Fair 2005 begins on Saturday at 10 a.m. The entry is free and there are different entrances for freshers and experienced professionals. For first timers, here is a quick set of tips. 1. Learning Opportunity: Take this as your chance to learn about selection tests, job interviews and employer's expectations. 2. Dress formally: Rather than walking in jeans and casuals, put on a smart set of formals. Let the interviewers know you mean business. 3. Expect two-minute interviews: Four HR professionals may end up interviewing 20,000 students. So prepare short and quick answers. Remember interviewers are battling fatigue; hence wear not only your best dress but also your best smile. 4. Do not despair if you cannot get a chance for interview: Carry sufficient copies of your resume and also add your name/registration number in the company register for contact later. Do not throw up your hands in despair and say, "they are only collecting resumes, not interviewing us." Respect recruiters. 5. Behaviour Matters: On being asked his name, a candidate replied, "You can see that on the resume." No one will like to interview you if you are busy on your mobile. Conduct yourself professionally. The venue of Job Fair is Codissia Trade Fair Complex, situated on the Avinashi Road, near the airport.
