Partly cloudy

sky forecast

The sky will be partly cloudy on Friday, according to the weather forecast. The minimum temperature will be around 19 degrees Celsius.

On Thursday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 32.8 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 20.1 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 29 per cent.

At the airport, the maximum temperature was 31.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature 19.1 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 26 per cent.

Discourse

The head of the Sawan Kirpal Ruhani Mission and President of the World Council of Religions, Sant Rajinder Singhji Maharaj, arrived here on a two-day visit.

He was given a reception at the Central College Cricket Ground.

According to Dharam Vir Bhakoo of the Mission, it has its headquarters in Delhi and over 1,500 centres spread over 43 countries. The Mission is also engaged in social welfare activities.

The Sant will give a discourse at the Central College Cricket Ground on Friday.

Exhibition

Karnataka State Khadi and Village Industries Board has extended "Khadi India 2005", a national-level exhibition of khadi and village industries products, till March 2. The exhibition is being held on Fort High School Grounds since February 2.

Check-up

Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital will organise a free diabetic check-up camp in its new department of diabetology and endocrinology on Sunday. The camp will be held between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. For details call Ph: 22207640.

Science Day

To mark National Science Day on Monday, the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants will keep its laboratory and farm open between 10 a.m. and 2.30 p.m. for the public.

Elected

The Bangalore Science Forum has elected A.H. Rama Rao as its President. Dr. Rama Rao replaces the educationist, late H. Narasimhaiah.
