HOSUR, FEB. 25. Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering SVCE (Sriperumbudur) scored a 1-0 win over favourite Karunya Institute of Technology (Coimbatore) in the football final of the Tamil Nadu Inter Engineering Sports (TIES 2005) at the Adhiyamaan CE grounds here today. St. Joseph's College of Engineering (Chennai) lifted the ball badminton title defeating Sri Angalamman CE (Tiruchi) 29-17, 29-13. In the track and field event, M. Santhana Lakshmi of St. Joseph's CE (Chennai) touched 8.93m for the women's shot put gold. P. Sathya Priya of the same college got the silver with an effort of 8.48m. A. Vishwanathan of RR College of Engineering (Tiruchengode) clocked 38:02.6s for the men's 1000m gold. A. Mohan Raj of PSG College of Technology (Coimbatore) and P. Vijayanandan of Pavendar Bharathidasan CE (Tiruchi) bagged the next two places.

Viswanathan (RR CE, Tiruchengode) 38.02.6; 2. A. Mohan Raj (PSG Tech, Coimbatore); 3. P. Vijayanandan (Pavendar Bharathidasan CE, Tiruchi).
