BANGALORE, FEB 25. After a five-day training at the KBA Stadium, the 10-member Indian badminton squad left for Europe on Friday afternoon. The Indians will take part in the German Open, beginning on February 28. Later the players will travel to Birmingham for the All-England Championship. The chief coach, U. Vimal Kumar said the camp has given the players an opportunity for joint on court sessions. "They also did good deal of physical training and all of them are in good condition," he said. In the German Open, Arvind Bhat, Nikhil Kanetkar,Chetan Anand, Abhinn Shyam Gupta will play in the men's singles main draw, while National champion Aparna Popat figures in the main draw of the women's singles. Anup Sridhar and P. Gopi Chand, however, will have to go through the qualifying rounds. Trupti Murgunde will also play in the women's qualifying round. The men's doubles pair, Sanave Thomas and Rupesh Kumar will compete in the main draw, while the women's duo, Jwala Gutta and Shruti will play the qualifying rounds.
