YSR promises to stick to manifesto
By Our Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD,
FEB. 25.
An extended executive meeting of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) here on Friday was promised by the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, "implementation of the manifesto in toto." Deviations from the manifesto would be minor if any and would be only to facilitate a better package, he assured them.
Dr. Reddy said the Government was committed to completing work on pending irrigation projects in five years and apart from budgetary provisions, the sector would be given special attention.
PCC chief's call
The PCC president, K. Keshava Rao, assured the Chief Minister of full cooperation and urged the cadres to work for the party's victory in municipal elections. He assured the cadre that justice would be done to all in postings.
The Endowments Minister and former PCC president, M. Satyanarayana Rao, argued that injustice to workers could have been avoided had Mr. Keshava Rao been appointed his successor. He recalled his support to Dr. Reddy and urged Mr. Keshava Rao to follow suit.
