NEW DELHI, FEB. 25. A Delhi court today sentenced a man to rigorous imprisonment of ten years for raping his daughter in their Mukhmailpur house in Alipur Police Station area on January 27, 1999. Besides imposing the maximum term of imprisonment prescribed for the crime, Additional Sessions Judge S C Mallik also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Jaipal who raped his daughter while his wife was not at home in ``utter disregard to all legal and moral norms''. Three months later on April 26, Jaipal got his pregnant daughter married and promised her that he would bring her back from her in-laws house some days later for abortion, police said. After the abortion was carried out on March 23, she informed her husband who registered a case of rape against Jaipal. The victim said that initially she did not tell anybody about the incident because of fear and insult to family.
