Two killed in accidents

KOCHI, FEB. 25. One person was found dead in the city this morning, while two were killed in separate road accidents.

Gopi, 65, a former employee of Cochin Port was found dead near Kaniampuzha Bridge. He was reportedly missing since last night. The police suspect a case of hit-and-run. The body was handed over to his relatives after a post-mortem examination at the Alappuzha Medical College. Joseph, 28, of Kadikodath House, Thengode, Edachira was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a tempo traveller at Palachuvadu at 8 a.m. today. The Edappally traffic police have registered a case.

Bimal Abraham, 21, of Abraham, Painikal House, near JBS School, Kandanadkara, was killed when his motorcycle rammed into a private bus near Kannankulangara junction at 10.50 a.m. today. Bimal was on his way to register his new vehicle when the accident occurred.

Elephants run amok

About 10-15 people were injured when all the seven elephants, during the morning seeveli, ran amok at Chottanikkara temple here. All were discharged after first aid.
