V. Karpagam of Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (Coimbatore) and V. Pradeep of St. Joseph's College of Engineering (Chennai) won a gold medal on the second day of the Tamil Nadu Inter Engineering Sports (TIES 2005) at the Adhiyamaan EC grounds here today.

Men: Pole vault: 1. R. Balakrishnan (Coimbatore IE&T) 3.03m, 2. S. Parveen Babu (Adhiyamaan CE, Hosur), 3. R. Ponraj (Dr. Sivanthi Adithanar CE, Tiruchendur). 800m: 1.V. Pradeep (St. Joseph's CE, Chennai) 2.02.9s, 2. R. Pandiarajan (KCN CE, Sivagangai), 3. T.R. Gokulakrishnan (St. Joseph's CE, Chennai). High jump: 1. S. Karthik (BSA Crescent EC) 1.80m, 2. G. Vivek (St. Joseph's CE, Chennai), 3. M. Sivasankar (Tiruchi EC). Discus: 1. K.N. Sivasubramanian (PSG Tech, Coimbatore) 34.85m, 2. Jayakumar (St. Joseph's CE, Chennai), 3. Livin Punithan (St. Xavier's EC, Kanyakumari).
Women: Long jump: 1. Shalini (PSNA CE, Dindigul) 4.71m, 2. K. Latha (Vellalar CE, Erode), 3. C. Murugarani (Periyar Maniammai CE for Women, Thanjavur). Javelin: 1. V. Karpagam (Sri Krishna CE&T), 2. V. Jamuna (M. Kumarasamy CE, Karur), 3. N.S. Sumithra (St. Joseph's CE, Chennai).
