THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 26. The Medical College police have arrested one Nawaz (29), of Kamaleswaram, on charges of waylaying and robbing a Mali citizen at Pattom. According to the police, Nawaz and another youth robbed the Mali citizen, Ibrahim Rifagu, of his money and passport while he was travelling in an autorickshaw.
One arrested
The Medical College police have arrested a 53-year-old man, Mani, a native of Thevally, Kollam, on charges of attempted pickpocketing at the SAT hospital.
Seized
Special Branch officials who conducted a raid in one of the theatre complexes near Overbridge in the city on Saturday, seized some reels of pornographic films which were being extrapolated with the regular movie being screened in the theatre. The Vanchiyoor police have registered a case and arrested Venukumar, the operator of the theatre.
