PONDICHERRY, FEB. 27. The Education Minister, K. Lakshminarayanan called upon students to develop self-confidence. Distributing cash awards, instituted by the Chamber of Commerce here, to students who had notched up the top ranks in the SSLC, Matriculation and Higher Secondary course public examinations in 2003-04, he said the administration had introduced a number of schemes to encourage students from economically backward sections to take up higher education.
