Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the article "How human would the human face be?" Feb. 25). India is a mixed economy. We need a balanced approach. The Prime Minister and the Finance Minister should bear this in mind.
Rajeeev Agrawal,
* * * Sir, The present income tax rates structure is outdated. There are many lobbies advocating relief for the business world but the service class, which is already overburdened, has no such lobby. It has to borrow money to pay tax. I hope Finance Minister P. Chidambaram bears in mind what Gandhi said: "That economics is unethical and wrong which harms ethics of a nation or an individual."
N.M. Khandelwal,
