BANGALORE, FEB. 27. The Basavanagudi Aquatic Centre, the premier swimming institution in the country, on Sunday celebrated its annual day at the BAC complex here on Sunday. The BAC honoured all the medal winners of the National competitions, hailing from its club and the list included some of the top swimmers of the country, including the Millet sisters - Nisha and Reshma, Rahul Batra, Rehan Poncha, V. Sivaranjini, Archana Bhushan, Ambica Iyengar and N.A. Sandeep. Chenraj Jain, Chairman of the Jain group of Institutions, hailed the performances of the BAC swimmers and praised the club for its pioneering effort in promoting the swimming talent in the country. He also pointed out that his institutions have always encouraged swimmers and many of them were much on its rolls. Anju Bobby George, the ace long jumper and her husband and coach Robert Bobby George, who were the guests of honour, gave away mementoes to the BAC champions. Neelkant Rao Jagdale, the president of the BAC and the Karnataka Swimming Association presided.
