SBT triumphs

THRISSUR, FEB. 27. State Bank of Travancore thrashed defending champion Kochi Refineries Limited by 153 runs and won the 18th E.P.Pavoo memorial all-Kerala cricket tournament here on Sunday.

The young A.V.Jagadeesh (80) and medium-pacer Sony Cheruvathur (6-22) were the stars of SBT's maiden victory in the tournament.

The scores:

SBT, Thiruvananthapuram 246 for six in 45 overs (A.V. Jagadeesh 80, Sanjay Mohan 64) bt KRL,

Ambalamugal 93 in 23.3 overs (Sony Cheruvathur six for 22).

Special prizes: Santosh Karunakaran (SBT, player of the tournament and best bowler), Vipinlal (KRL, best batsman), Sony Cheruvathur (SBT, man of the final), Manikantan (Swantons, most enterprising innings), Ramesh (Octopals, best wicketkeeper), Bijesh Benny (AG 's Octopals, most promising player).
