PATNA, FEB. 27. The Rashtriya Janata Dal president, Lalu Prasad, today said that being the single largest party, it would stake claim to form the government in Bihar. "Ours [RJD and allies] is the largest pre-poll alliance with 92 seats,"' he said. "I will not give up and our party will stake claim to form government." Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr. Prasad said that since most of the Independents were RJD rebels, they would lend support to him, besides the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party. On Paswan's advocacy of President's rule in the event of no combination getting a majority in the 243-member house, he said, "I strongly disfavour Central rule. The people have given the mandate to secular parties to form [the] government." PTI
