CHENNAI, FEB. 28. The Lalaji Memorial Omega School, located on a nine-acre campus in Kolapakkam, is offering admission from pre-KG to Class V for the coming academic year. The school, run by the Baal Vatika Educational Society, says it will offer the "best available training methods" to students, including technology-aided education. A highlight of the education offered will be the value-based spiritual education curriculum developed by the Sahaj Marg Research and Training Institute (SMRTI) of Shri Ram Chandra Mission located in Manapakkam. The Mission offers the Sahaj Marg system of meditation free of cost. The SMRTI module developed in collaboration with the Government and NCERT includes spiritual instruction, sports and games, arts and crafts, dance and yoga. In addition to the SMRTI module, the school will have a number of other programmes "designed to instil moral and ethical values" in children. The Lalaji Memorial Omega School proposes to start a week-boarder programme in the second year. Students will be provided nutritious snacks and meals on campus and transportation. Situated 5 km from the Mission's ashram in Manapakkam, the school will cater for parents looking for "quality education" for their children in the Porur-Tambaram and Kunrathur-Medavakkam belt. The bhoomipooja for the school was performed on February 25.
