Veeran scalps seven

KARAIKUDI, MARCH 1. Medium pacer Veeran's seven for 19 helped Sachin Brothers CC post a five-wicket victory over Brindhavanam CC `A' in the Indian Bank-Sivaganga District Cricket Association `A' division league here on Sunday.

The scores: `A' division: Brindhavanam CC `A' 108 in 20 overs (Veeran seven for 19) lost to Sachin Brothers CC 109 for five in 21.4 overs (Halith four for 32).

`B' division: Moonlight CC 173 for nine in 27 overs (Anand 65, Ashok six for 28) lost to Sekkalai CC 177 for five in 29 overs (Senthil Arasu 53 not out).

`C' division: Telecom Little Knights CC 86 in 17 overs (Karthick four for nine) bt Star Birds CC 57 in 11.4 overs (K. Saravanan five for 27, Meenakshisundaram four for 24).

Newland CC 106 for nine in 14 overs bt Sunlight CC 73 in 16.2 overs (Anand Prabhu six for eight). CECRI CC 153 in 30 overs (Karthikeyan 65, Saravanan four for 31) lost to Moonlight CC 154 for seven in 24.4 overs.

Jolly Rovers CC 149 in 26.2 overs (Ilayaraja 43) bt Newland CC 87 in 22.2 overs.
