Allan Rae passes away
KINGSTON,
MARCH 1.
Allan Rae, former West Indies Cricket Board president and Test batsman, has died on Sunday at 82. Rae was an opening batsman for the West Indies in 15 Tests. He scored 1,016 runs (average 46.18, 4 x 100, including one against India at Bombay in 1948).
He formed a strong opening partnership with Trinidadian Jeffrey Stollmeyer, and played in the West Indies team which defeated England for the first time in a Test series in 1950. AP
