VSNL begins cable-laying

MUMBAI, MARCH 1 . The Internet gateway and services major Videsh Sanchar Nigam has commenced cable laying operations of its submarine cable system, SEA-ME-WE-3 (SMW-3), which on completion would link France to Singapore with Mumbai.

The cables from Singapore and France would land in Mumbai at VSNL's cable landing station located in Prabhadevi area, VSNL said in a release. — PTI
