PCC poll process to be completed by April 30

HYDERABAD,
MARCH 1.
The PCC general secretary, K. R. Amos, has said the process of organisational polls in the Congress would be completed by April 30.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Amos said that the PCC election observer and chairman, Basavaraj and co-chairman, Daljit Singh would be arriving here on March 7 and tour the State till the conclusion of the election process. Six representatives of the District Congress Committee would be elected from each block on March 14.
There are two blocks in each constituency, he said adding that in all there were 588 blocks. The block committees, which did not complete the elections by March 14, could not vote in the PCC elections.
Dandi march
He said that a PCC delegation would be leaving for Sabarmati to participate in Dandi march on March 12. The PCC chief, K. Keshava Rao would lead the team. The AICC had decided to conduct the march to bring back memories of the historic march by the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, was likely to participate in the march, he added.
