PATHANAMTHITTA, MARCH 1. The 11-day annual festival at the famous Malayalappuzha Devi Temple near Pathanamthitta came to a close with the `arat' ceremony today evening. The `arat', to the accompaniment of Panchavadyam and other traditonal temple orchestra, began around 5 p.m. The Tantri Sukumara Bhattathiri of Adimuttathu Math performed the rituals at Arat Kadavu. The Tantri brought down the ceremonial flag on the temple mast when the procession returned.
