PATHANAMTHITTA, MARCH 1. Employees attached to the Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) owing allegiance to different trade unions staged a dharna in front of the Telephone Bhavan here today. The dharna was to protest against the alleged move to privatise the public sector giant and the decision to permit 74 per cent foreign investment in the telecommunications sector, according to C.K. Thomas, district leader of the Sanchar Nigam Executives Association India. The dharna was addressed by the Telecom area manager, M. Rghavan Nair; C.K. Thomas, (Sanchar Nigam Executives Association India); K.S. Rajashekharan Nair (All-India BSNL Executives Association); Mathew Abraham and M.G.S. Kurup, both belonging to the BSNL Employees Union; and the Kerala Congress (J) State committee member, Jerry Easow Oommen.
