TIRUPATI, MARCH 1. Tourism and Hospitality Training Centre, an educational society working under the Department of Tourism and Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh, on Monday organised an orientation- cum-training programme in behavioural aspects for porters and autorickshaw drivers at the Tirupati Railway Station. Inaugurating the programme, Ananda Shankar, Additional Secretary to the Government, Youth Services, said the course was intended mainly for railway porters and autorickshaw drivers as they were the two with whom tourists interact the moment they land in the railway station. The objective was to promote the State as the most hospitable tourist destination in the world, she said. The Vice-Chairman of the Tirupati Urban Development Authority, M. Rangachari, complemented the department.
