Manipur in semifinals

IMPHAL, MARCH 2 Defending champion Manipur and Goa have entered the semifinals of the 13th Senior women's National football championship.

Manipur trounced Jharkhand 7-0. Tababi scored four goals, including a hat-trick in the 71st, 80th and 81st minute. She also scored a goal in the 59th minute. S. Manitombi (30th), captain O. Bembem (46th) and M. Surmala (66th) were the other scorers.

The second half was completely dominated by the 10-time champion Manipur.

The second match was played between Bihar and Punjab, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Punjab opened the account through Rupinder Kaur in the 11th minute while Madhu Kumari of Bihar levelled the score in the 33rd minute.

Bihar needed a win to enter the semifinal as the other team in their group. Goa had defeated Punjab 1-0 in the match played earlier. As the game ended in a draw, Goa entered the semifinal.

Tomorrow Kerala will meet Tamil Nadu and West Bengal will meet Delhi in the last quarterfinal league matches.— UNI
