Three naxals killed in encounter

WARANGAL,
MARCH 2.
Three naxalites were killed in an exchange of fire, near the Bussapur forest area of Govindaraopet mandal, here today.
According to preliminary information reaching here, a group of 15 naxals have been camping on the village outskirts for the last three days and summoning contractors and traders. They have been demanding party fund. Vexed with the extortions, some of the victims passed on information about their movement to the police. A special party of policemen who went for combing in the forest spotted the naxals.
On seeing the policemen, the naxals opened fire despite a plea to surrender.In retaliation, the police too opened fire. The police found two female and one male naxal dead. They recovered six weapons.
Speaking to The Hindu, the Superintendent of Police, M. S. Ravindra, said the slain naxals belonged to the CPUSI group.
