HYDERABAD, MARCH 2. The Telugu Desam Party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Wednesday appeared to keep his options open on his party's relationship with Bharatiya Janata Party. At a press conference, he was asked to comment on the Majlis floor leader in the Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi's offer to work with the TDP on issues relating to minorities, if the latter severed its relations with BJP. Mr. Naidu did not give a direct answer but said that his party was never a part of the National Democratic Alliance, as it strongly believed in secularism. It had always worked for the welfare of minorities. To another question, he disagreed that the membership for the party had come down after it lost power. The enrolment list was not consolidated. As of today, 23 lakh ordinary members and 11 lakh active members were enrolled. After the press conference, he met a delegation of depositors of the Guntur based Vijetha Agro Farms Limited who were duped of Rs. 50 crores.
