Sarpanch arrested

ADILABAD, MARCH 2. The Tiryani police have arrested the sarpanch of Pangidi Madaram gram panchayat, Motiram, on Wednesday under the Andhra Pradesh Public Security Act and Explosive Substances Act for his alleged involvement in Maoists' act of stealing explosives from Singareni Collieries four days ago. The explosives were recovered from his maize field and he was a known sympathiser of the naxalites according to police.
