NEW DELHI, MARCH 2. The Union Home Minister, Shivraj Patil, called on the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, tonight. Mr. Patil is understood to have apprised Mr. Kalam of the political situation in Jharkhand where the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader, Shibu Soren, has been appointed Chief Minister. Sources said that during the 30-minute meeting, Mr. Patil informed Mr. Kalam of the circumstances under which the Jharkhand Governor, Syed Sibtey Razi, took the decision. Congress sources said tonight that the party leadership was of the view that the new Government in Jharkhand should secure a vote of confidence within three days.
