HYDERABAD, MARCH 2. Two women's organisations on Wednesday represented to the Governor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, seeking withdrawal of the new excise policy as it would result in setting up of too many liquor shops and bars. Leaders of the Progressive Organisation of Women and Progressive Youth League -- V. Sandhya, and N. Das -- in a memorandum submitted to Mr. Shinde, said that sanction of more liquor shops and bars would result in increased violence and attacks on women.
