PHUKET (THAILAND), MARCH 3. Australia's Scott Barr and India's Jeev Milkha Singh both hit seven-under-par 65 on Thursday to lead the US$500,000 (euro382,000) Thailand Open after the first round. Yoshinobu Tsukada and Gohei Sato of Japan both shot 66 to share third place, one stroke behind the leaders. Jeev teed off early at Phuket's Blue Canyon Country Club and headed the pack alone until late afternoon, when Barr who hit the links at midday joined him on the leaderboard. The Singapore-based Barr hit seven birdies and no bogeys, while Singh had nine birdies against two bogeys. Jeev, who is based in Japan, hit into a water hazard on the 17th hole but said that overall ``I think I had a good approach and putting today.'' AP
