Nagendra wins gold

HYDERABAD, MARCH 3. P. Nagendra Rao of MRC won the gold in the 10,000 metres race on the third day of the Indian army's ATNK & K area athletic championships at the Artillery Centre ground here on Thursday. Rao clocked a creditable time of 31m 40.18s.

The results:

10,000m: 1. P.Nagendra Rao (MRC) 31m 40.18s; 2. Ram Singh (Artillery); 3. A. Mallesh (EME). High jump: 1. Ashok (Artillery) 1.95m; 2. C. Vijin Raj (EME); 3. Ram Kumar (MRC). Pole vault: 1. Sanjeev Kumar (Artillery) 4.10m; 2. Shiva Kumar (MRC); 3. Vijender Singh (EME). Discus: 1. Sunil Kumar (MEG) 45.22m; 2. Dilbag Singh (Artillery); 3. Mahesh Singh (Artillery). 1,500m: 1. Bijumon (MRC) 4m 7.15s; 2. Vinodan (MEG); 3. Gurjant Singh (Artillery).
