Portrait of G.Ramachandran unveiled
NEW DELHI,
MARCH 3.
The former President K.R. Narayanan today unveiled the portrait of Gandhian philosopher and activist G. Ramachandran at the Kerala House here.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Narayanan said the memories of Ramachandran would enrich Gandhian ideals at a time when Gandhi ``is progressively forgotten.'' He said that Ramachandran, the founder of Gandhigram Rural University in Madurai, was not only a follower of the Mahatma, but a link between traditional and modern India as represented by Gandhi and Tagore. Ramachandran had sacrificed his life serving seven years in British jail during the freedom struggle. ``His memory can regenerate India as a whole.'' - UNI
