Dan David prize for C.N.R. Rao

BANGALORE,
MARCH 3.
The former Director of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, C.N.R. Rao has been awarded the prestigious Dan David Science Prize for 2005. He is at present Linus Pauling research professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research here.
The prize amount is $ 1 million.
Prof. Chintamani Nagesha Ramachandra Rao will share the prize with George Whitesides of Harvard University and Robert Langer of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The citation describes Prof. Rao as the world's foremost solid state and materials chemist. The award ceremony will be held on May 23, according to a Press Information Bureau press release.
