Rain predicted

NEW DELHI MARCH 3. Delhi will experience a partly cloudy sky on Friday with possibility of rainfall/ thundershower in some areas.

While Safdarjung recorded maximum and minimum temperatures of 32.4 degree Celsius and 15.5 degree Celsius respectively, Palam recorded a maximum temperature of 32.3 degree Celsius and a minimum of 15.5 degree Celsius. Safdarjung received a rainfall of 0.8 mm. while Palam received 0.1 mm.

The maximum and minimum relative humidity at Safdarjung was 83 per cent and 26 per cent respectively, while Palam recorded a maximum humidity of 83 per cent and a minimum of 25 per cent.

Two bodies found

NEW DELHI MARCH 3. A girl student of Jamia Millia Islamia and a young man were purportedly knocked down by a local train at Srinivaspuri in South Delhi today. The police have prima facie ruled out any foul play.

The police received a call around 11-35 a.m. claiming that the bodies of a girl and a young man were lying near the railway tracks at J-Block in Srinivaspuri. With the help of the mobile phone and the identity card of the girl, the police established her identity as Sheetu Singh, daughter of an engineer with the Airports Authority of India (AAI). However, the identity of the man could not be established till late in the night.

The police said the nature of the injuries did not suggest that the two had flung themselves on the tracks when the train approached. The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways), R.K. Jha, said: "Unless the identity of the man is established and the sequence of events ascertained, it will not be possible for the police to reach any conclusion."

Four held for robbery

NEW DELHI MARCH 3. Four alleged robbers were arrested at Bara Hindu Rao in North Delhi on Wednesday. According to the police, a knife was recovered from them.

Acting on a tip-off that some criminals had gathered in Azad Market to plan a robbery, the police laid a trap and arrested four of the suspects, Kedar Nath, Davender, Baldev Raj and Ramesh. The fifth suspect, Dharmender, managed to escape.

Auto-lifters arrested

NEW DELHI MARCH 3. Two alleged auto-lifters were arrested on Mall Road in North Delhi on Wednesday. A stolen motorcycle was recovered from them. The duo -- Surender and Rakesh -- were moving on the stolen motorcycle when they were arrested around 10 p.m.
