NEW DELHI, MARCH 3. Two persons, including a woman, were murdered in separate incidents reported from South-West and West Delhi since Wednesday night. A 31-year-old man was shot dead by some unidentified assailants at Dwarka in South-West Delhi last night. According to the police, Deepak Sharma, a chemist, had closed his Sector-7 shop for the day and was returning home along with his employee, Bunty, when two motorcycle-borne young men came from behind and opened fire at Deepak from close range. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Bunty escaped unhurt. Preliminary investigations revealed that Deepak's brother, Robin Sharma, had been associated with Vishwa Hindu Parishad in the past. He had also once claimed that he had been attacked by unidentified men in Dwarka. However, the police had found no evidence about the same and the case was closed. The police, meanwhile, said they had no evidence suggesting that yesterday's incident was linked to the past activities of Deepak's brother. Meanwhile, a case of murder has been registered at Dwarka police station and further investigations are on. In another incident, a 37-year-old woman was found dead in her house at Rajouri Garden in West Delhi this morning. The police said the incident came to light when the neighbours of Naina Sehgal, a resident of Shivaji Enclave in Rajouri Garden, became curious when she did not come out of the house this morning. They then reported the matter to the police. When the police reached the spot, they found that the entire house had been ransacked and Naina's body was lying on the floor in one of the rooms. There were injury marks around her neck. Preliminary investigations revealed that Naina, married to one Ajay Sehgal, used to stay alone owing to marital discord. The police have also not ruled out robbery as the motive behind the incident. However, they were yet to ascertain if anything was missing from the house. A case of murder has been registered at Rajouri Garden police station and further investigations in the case are on.
