Jharkhand MLAs in Rajasthan

By Our Special Correspondent

JAIPUR, MARCH 4. After the Goa legislators, it is now the turn of the Jharkhand MLAs to enjoy Rajasthan's hospitality, as it lives up to its reputation of being a safe haven for all types of visitors.

Away from the political drama that is being enacted in New Delhi and Ranchi, the newest crop of MLAs from there was brought to the Rajasthan capital here today for "safe upkeep" by the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership.

Arriving by road in a bus this evening, the Jharkhand MLAs, 34 in all, led by the former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Arjun Munda, checked into Sunrise Resort at Beachonli village on the Jaipur-Delhi bypass here.

A fortnight ago 12 MLAs from Goa, along with five party workers, had stayed in the same resort.

Another group of seven MLAs — five Independents and two others — from Jharkhand were whisked away to an unknown destination.

It is said that this group is holed up in Sariska, a Project Tiger sanctuary in Alwar district of Rajasthan.

The larger group of MLAs was accompanied by Rajasthan MPs Pushp Jain, Srichand Kripalani and Dushyant Singh — the son of the Rajasthan Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje.
