HYDERABAD, MARCH 4. The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy was visibly irked at Telugu Desam Party members' insistence in the Assembly that the Agriculture Minister, N. Raghuveera Reddy, continue to answer their queries. The Chief Minister appeared irritated when the Leader of the Opposition, N. Chandrababu Naidu, got up to seek clarification on a short discussion on minimum support price for the agriculture produce. The Agriculture Minister had given a lengthy reply to the member's queries and also answered supplementary questions. After the Minister sat down, Mr. Naidu got up and began asking questions. Dr. Reddy expressed his displeasure that the members continued to hurl a volley of questions at the Minister even after the debate had concluded. Speaking in an agitated tone, he wanted to know how many more rounds of questions would be taken up as the Leader of the Opposition had already started the third round. The House had decided to wind up debate by 1.30 p.m. every day and it was not proper to delay the sitting. The Chief Minister pointed out that if TDP members were not satisfied with the answers they could choose any form of protest. Mr. Naidu took exception to the Chief Minister's remarks and pointed out that the Government was not able to digest the "bitter facts" being reeled out by the TDP. The Finance Minister, K. Rosaiah, remarked sarcastically that the TDP members would perhaps be satisfied only when the Minister read out a statement prepared by them.
