BIJAPUR, MARCH 5. The councillors in Bijapur ended their dharna on Friday after the Minister for Animal Husbandry, Mirajuddin Patel, issued directions to take up development work in the councillors' wards. Members of the City Municipal Council members Prakash Mirji, Ashok Nyamgonda, Ravi Bagali and Mallu Kumbar were staging a dharna at Gandhi Chowk from Wednesday. Mr. Patel, who is also the district in-charge Minister, visited the agitators along with the Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Mohsin, and the Municipal Commissioner, C.K. Dashvanth. Mr. Patel directed the Deputy Commissioner to start road works at a cost of Rs. 2.5 lakhs in Ward no 15 immediately.
