Providence college leading in arts festival

KUNNAMKULAM, (THRISSUR), MARCH. 5. The Providence College, Kozhikode, led with a tally of 21 points when the results of 14 stage events were announced at the Calicut University Inter-Zone Arts Festivals here on Saturday.

The St. Joseph's College, Devagiri, and Christ College, Irinjalakuda, were in the second and third positions, scoring 20 and 17 points respectively.

Competitions were held in 25 disciplines today.

The following are the results of some of the events (in the order of first, second and third prizes):

C. K. Arun Jyothis (Best actor)

Drama (English): St. Joseph's College, Irinjalakuda; St. Aloysius College, Elthuruthu; St. Joseph's College, Devagiri and R. Sankar Memorial SNDP Yogam College, Koilandy.

Best actor: C.K. Arun Jyothis, St. Joseph's College, Devagiri.

Best actress: Deepna P. Nair, R. Sankar Memorial SNDP Yogam College, Koilandy.

Danny Sebastian (Light music)

Tableau: Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College, Calicut; Christ College, Irinjalakuda; SNG College.

Kathakali: Nandini Paliyath, Vimala College, Thrissur; P. Anoop, SCAM Government College, Thrissur; Deepna P. Nair, R. Sankar Memorial SNDP Yogam College, Koilandy.

Bharatanatyam: Sithara Krishnakumar, Feroke College; Therma Antony Kuttikaran, METS School of Engineering, Mala; Ranjima N. Mohan, Government Medical College, Thrissur.
