SRIKAKULAM, MARCH 5. The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, on Saturday turned nostalgic at Itchapuram where a pylon was constructed to mark the conclusion of his 1,400-km Praja Prasthanam. Chevella was the starting point for his marathon padayatra, launched in April 2003. It had taken Dr. Reddy just over two months to cover the distance. On the way, he became ill and had to remain in a garden near Rajahmundry for more than a week. Touching the pylon, Dr. Reddy recalled how as an opposition leader he had exposed the misrule of the TDP and pleaded for people's mandate for good governance. "You responded magnificently and on my part I have been trying to implement all promises made during my Praja Prasthanam. You have brought out a resolution and I treasure those moments," he added.
