TDP chief asked to declare assets

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, MARCH 5. The Congress MP, U. Arun Kumar, has demanded that the Telugu Desam Party president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, declare his assets in the wake of a petition filed by the NTR TDP president, Lakshmi Parvati, in the Supreme Court.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Arun Kumar wondered why Mr. Naidu was silent on issue when allegations were levelled that he had amassed wealth.

He said the TDP chief should use the case as an opportunity to declare his assets and come clean.

He objected to the manner in which Telugu Desam Party members were disrupting the proceedings of the House. He decried their "campaign" against the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Mr. Arun Kumar took exception to the charge that the Chief Minister was a factionist. On the security to the former Chief Minister, Mr. Arun Kumar said Mr. Naidu had the best security cover.
