Student drowned in temple pond

GURUVAYUR,
MARCH 5
. Puthuveetil Anas (14), ninth standard student of the Guruvayur Devaswom's Sree Krishna Higher Secondary School, was drowned in a pond at the Mammiyur Siva Temple today. The deceased belonged to Perakam.
The accident occurred when Anas, his younger brother Anees (11) and cousins Fahad and Sahad entered the temple pond to take bath. Anees and Fahad have been admitted at Amala Medical College Hospital.
According to reports, the condition of Anees, a sixth standard student at the Sree Krishna Higher Secondary School, is serious. Fahad and Sahad are also studying in the same school.
Guruvayur Devaswom officials and managing committee members visited the residence of Anees to offer condolences to the bereaved family. They participated in the last rites held at the nearby mosque along with hundreds of people from the area.
