Achuthanandan demands probe into IT exam

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH. 5. The Leader of the Opposition, V. S. Achuthanandan, has demanded a probe into the IT practicals conducted as part of the SSLC examination this year by an independent expert panel which did not contain any representative of the IT@School machinery.

In a letter which he sent to the Education Minister, E. T. Mohammed Basheer, he said the probe should find out among other things the number of children for whom re-examination was conducted, the number of children whose marks were changed among those who did not appear for the re-examination and the number of questions attempted by them in each of the three application software which were evaluated.

He wanted the inquiry to cover two other issues also - whether the software allowed any result to be deleted before the answers and the results were copied in the CD and whether the children who came under the IEDC (Integrated Education for the Disabled Chidlren) were given any training before appearing for the examination.
