KOLLAM, MARCH 5. If the Corporation meets its commitment of Rs. 55 lakhs towards Kerala Water Authority (KWA) by month-end, the city will get water for five hours from next month. KWA's spadework for this was nearing completion, the KWA executive engineer, Mohammed Najeeb, told The Hindu . The Corporation had earlier given a written agreement to the KWA in this connection. The existing water supply time is from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. The move was to extend it to 11 a.m., Mr. Najeeb said. The new system will ensure steady pressure in water supply. From April, KWA supply will be made through line pumping. This will ensure pressure in the supply lines.
