BSNL to set up six broadband stations

PATHANAMTHITTA, MARCH 5. C. Sasidharan, general manager of Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in Pathanamthitta Secondary Switching Area, today said that the BSNL would set up six broadband centres at Tiruvalla, Kumbanad, Pathanamthitta, Pandalam, Adoor and Ranni in the first phase.

Addressing a press conference at the Telephone Bhavan in Tiruvalla, Mr. Sasidharan said the BSNL had received 300 applications for broadband connections so far. He said 150 connections would be given in the first phase, on a priority basis.

Mr. Sasidharan said the augmentation of the Wireless Local Loop system with the latest version of the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) in the SSA was progressing fast.
