Separate Telangana by April: Narendra

By Our Staff Reporter

SANGAREDDY, MARCH 5. The Union Minister and TRS leader, A. Narendra, has said that separate Telangana will become a reality by April when the Union Cabinet will confer statehood.

Speaking to reporters who met him on his way to Edupayala Bhavani temple in Papannapet mandal, Mr. Narendra said technically separate Telangana came into being the day the sub-committee was constituted to look into the issue. Only a few formalities like seeking support from the UPA's constituent parties remained. "The sub-committee's opinion will be in our favour as all its members are sympathetic to our cause," he claimed.

The State Congress was in the dark over the issue, he said. He ruled out any dissidence in the Congress, saying the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, had to abide by the AICC president, Sonia Gandhi's decision.

On his way to Medak, he was gheraoed by activists of the Railway Line Sadhana Samithi demanding the Mirjapalli Medak broad gauge line.
