CHENNAI, MARCH 5. The audio cassette of Chandra Mukhi, starring Rajnikant, was released and Dr. Sivaji Ganesan Memorial Award presented to Mellisai Mannar M.S. Viswanathan at a ceremony here on Saturday. Rajnikant said he would bounce back after Chandra Mukhi and promised to talk more at the film's silver jubilee. "Everyone was asking what happened to my own production, Jaghubai. The storyline resembled Basha, so we shelved it," he said. "When Baba did not do well many thought I was down and out. But I can bounce back quickly," the actor said. Playback singer Asha Bhonsle sang the first lines of some P. Susheela songs and paid tributes to the late Sivaji Ganesan. Sudersana Srinivasan, president, South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce, received the first cassette of the film. `Sathya Jothi' Thyagarajan, president, Tamil Film Producers Council, received the first CD. Director P. Vasu, poet Valee, Madhusudhan Mandyam of Tata Indicom, spoke. It is said nearly three lakh cassettes were sold on the first day. Producer and actor Prabhu spoke.
