VIJAYAWADA, MARCH 5. The Krishna district Collector, K. Prabhakar Reddy, has said that in the company of poets and writers, even a lay man gets intellectual stimulation that enables him to enjoy the essence of literary works from distinguished writers. Inaugurating the two-day State-level poets and writers' workshop `Sahityasala', organised at the Madhu Kalyana Mandapam on Saturday, Mr. Reddy said that Vijayawada had no dearth of literary activity with many illustrious poets and writers hailing from this coastal town. "It is time one goes down the memory lane and recollects great works. For this, writers' conferences should be conducted on a regular basis," he said. Emphasising the importance of literature in enhancing creative abilities, Mr. Reddy said it was one activity which would go on ceaselessly as the rich legacy was passed on from generation to generation. The Collector said: "Literary activity is one field that never goes dry. It offers the much needed solace to one and all."
