The Union Government spent Rs. 7,180 crores under this programme. For, it was his or her duty to ensure discipline among schoolchildren and also motivate them to keep the campus clean. It was the PET who had a direct interaction with every child in a school, whereas subject teachers would have contact with only those who were being taught by them. The Regional Joint Director of School Education, the District Educational Officer, A. Satyanarayana Reddy, the District Sports Development Officer, Sudhakar, and others also participated in the meeting.
